Contrary to common worries, joining our community does not mean a reduction in dignity or independence. Assisted Living is designed for residents who would benefit from some assistance with common tasks and daily living and/or who are no longer able to live safely by themselves. At Keystone, our Assisted Living option is designed to foster an active lifestyle combined with supportive care to meet (and exceed) the needs of our residents.

Who is the right fit for Assisted Living?

Assisted Living is appropriate for nearly half of American Seniors who report that they either need (or already receive) help with some of the activities of daily living, At Keystone we enable our Active Living residents to maintain their independence and dignity through providing the necessary supportive services, allowing both residents and their families to focus their energy and attention on their overall quality of life, rather than the responsibilities of daily care.

We know that every resident has a unique story and needs. Before your move-in date, a Keystone care team member will meet with you and/or your representative to create an individualized service plan detailing your personalized needs, required care, and desired services. How do you decide when it’s time for Assisted Living?

Have you or your loved one:

• Experienced at least one fall, even if there was no injury?
• Experienced increasing frustration or difficulty with meal preparation or eating?
• Given you any concern that they are hungry or that their nutritional needs are not being met by their current diet?
• Experienced difficulty maneuvering safely around the house, especially with stairs or getting into and out of bed, the bath or the car?
• Required or requested help with getting dressed, bathing or other activities
• Forgotten or mixed up medication dosages?

Memory Care at Keystone is carefully designed for the special needs of people with Alzheimer's, dementia and other memory care related impairments from the early through later stages.

The key focus of Memory Care is ensuring the safety and security for these residents, while allowing them to live full lives and honoring their rich personal history, skills, values, passions, and family connections.

Keystone recognizes the special needs of people with Alzheimer's and other memory care related challenges. Utilizing innovative new programs, we find ways to involve residents in everyday activities they enjoy and feel good about. Our Memory Care residents may fall along the spectrum of physical wellness, with some having few or no physical issues requiring additional care. At Keystone we are focused on matching our supportive care to the needs of our residents. Before moving in, you will have a personalized assessment to determine your specific needs and to build a care plan that fits.

For our Assisted Living and Memory Care residents, we offer caring assistance with daily living activities. This could include dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting assistance, transfer assistance, reminders for meds, med administration and reminders for social activities.

Independent Living have full access to our life enrichment programs to encourage socialization, participation and active living. It is also not uncommon that your private practitioner may offer a service that allows him or her to come to the community to provide care.

Our Directors of Health and Wellness work directly with your health care providers to help coordinate care and provide assistance. Our Concierge can assist with setting up third-party appointments (doctors, physical therapists, etc) for all residents, if desired.

We know that exercise, physical activity and access to therapy is vital to our residents. Keystone residents have access to our gym for exercise or to meet with a Physical Therapist. Though we do not provide on-staff Physical Therapists, we are pleased to make recommendations or coordinate referrals.

In case of emergencies, we have care staff onsite 24/7.

We know that safety matters!

At Keystone we maintain a private secure environment for each resident. Every one of our individual apartment suites is equipped with an emergency response system. Keystone also has onsite trained staff 24/7.

Independent Living and Assisted Living Residents enter and leave as they wish. Our Memory Care units are secured for the safety and security of the residents.

Though most exterior doors are locked after 8 pm, you (and your loved ones) will be able to access the building with your key or easy to remember access code. If you happen to forget your key or code, our helpful concierge or care staff will provide quick access.

At Keystone we offer the flexibility of month-to-month rentals, with only a 30-day notice required to terminate your lease. These monthly residential fees vary based on the size of the apartment suite, and the level of care needed/desired.

Can I bring my car?

Yes! Independent Living and Assisted Living residents at Keystone may bring their own car and take advantage of our free parking.

General exterior parking is always free and reserved spots may be available at an additional fee.

What if I don’t have a car? Do you provide transportation?

Yes! The Keystone Division communities provide scheduled transportation to doctor's appointments and shopping centers, grocery stores, field trips and other local places of interest via our comfortable community vans.

Yes! We know that the companionship and care of a pet can offer great benefits to our residents, and most of our communities fully welcome these beloved family members.

Dogs and cats and other small, caged animals (such as hamsters, bunnies or lizards) are welcome. You can even bring your pet with you when you come for a tour!

We are also pleased to welcome therapy animals to our facilities to interact with our residents. Visitors may also bring pets to hand out for the day (or even overnight with approval). Several times a year our communities plan much loved animal-related field trips, such as outings to the local petting zoo, farm or horse races.

Please note: It is important that each resident is able to care for their pet fully without aid from staff and they are not a disruption to other residents. Decisions are made on a case by case basis after a thorough evaluation from our team.

*Our Clearview Location is an Ohio Medicaid Waiver approved community and accepts new residents into the program on an extremely limited basis. Good news! Although many don’t realize at first, the cost of living at Keystone is, in most cases comparable, or even lower (even without taking into account the included activities, amenities, and services) than the combined expenses of living in a single-family home.
